Automatic sentinel flushing rig for little-used outlets such as en-suite basins in unoccupied rooms, dead-leg outlets and low-use showers. The device is programmed to flush the outlet at set intervals and durations, maintaining water movement and preventing stagnation in the distribution system. Flushing events are logged electronically.
HSE ACOP L8 and HSG 274 Part 2 require care home operators to identify little-used outlets and implement a flushing programme. Manual sentinel flushing is one of the most poorly maintained L8 control measures in care homes — rooms are occupied intermittently, staff turnover is high and records are frequently incomplete. Automatic flushing eliminates the human reliability dependency and provides a verifiable electronic log for L8 audit.
Programmable flushing intervals (daily to weekly); configurable flush duration; electronic event log; battery or mains powered; fits standard ½" BSP outlet; flushing at cold then hot to maintain temperature records.
