How often should a care home carry out Legionella testing?

Under the HSE's L8 Approved Code of Practice, care homes are required to carry out a formal Legionella risk assessment at least every two years — or whenever there is reason to believe it may no longer be valid.

In addition, water temperature monitoring should be carried out monthly (sentinel outlets) with a full temperature survey at least annually. TMV servicing is typically annual.
