By accessing or using CareHomeDesk (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and CareHomeDesk Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17376664.
CareHomeDesk is a compliance and operations platform for UK care home operators and their staff. By using the Platform you confirm that:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@carehomedesk.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
Access to certain features requires an active paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are in GBP and exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change pricing on 30 days written notice.
You must not use the Platform to:
Guidance, checklists, news content, Tools, and Ask outputs on CareHomeDesk are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice. This applies equally to the rate library, calculators, and any exported document. You remain solely responsible for meeting all applicable CQC, local authority, and statutory requirements, and for obtaining competent professional advice (for example, from an architect, surveyor, fire risk assessor, or other appointed professional) where the situation requires it.
Rates, budgets, and cost figures shown anywhere on the Platform -- including Plan My Work, the rate library, and any exported budget or tender pack -- are indicative, contractor-derived benchmarks. They are not quotations, valuations, or guaranteed market prices. Actual costs vary with location, specification, quantities, access, working conditions in occupied care environments, programme, phasing, labour and material availability, and project-specific risk. You should obtain project-specific quotations before committing expenditure, and any exported estimate carries this same qualification whether viewed on the Platform or downloaded.
Ask uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, including analysis of any photograph you upload. Responses may contain errors or omissions and should be treated as guidance, not a substitute for a competent person. Verify anything Ask tells you before relying on it for a safety-critical, statutory, technical, contractual, or financial decision.
Do not upload photographs or files containing residents, medical information, resident records, medication information, or any other confidential or personal information you do not have permission to share. Photographs and text you submit to Ask are sent to our AI processor to generate a response -- see our Privacy Policy for details of how this is handled. Photographs used within the Fire Door Checker tool are handled differently and are never transmitted to us or to any third party; see the Privacy Policy for that distinction.
All content, software, design, and trademarks on the Platform are owned by or licensed to CareHomeDesk Ltd. You may not copy or create derivative works without our prior written permission. You retain ownership of any data you upload or create within the Platform.
Our datasheets library links to and summarises manufacturer specification sheets (for example, from AKW, Contour, Freefoam, James Hardie, Lorient, and other manufacturers) sourced from the manufacturers' own websites. This third-party manufacturer content remains the property of the respective manufacturer. Where we summarise or comment on it, that commentary is ours, but the underlying specification and any manufacturer branding, logos, or product data is not, and nothing on the Platform should be read as implying a manufacturer's endorsement, partnership, or approval of CareHomeDesk. We link directly to manufacturers' own published literature rather than reproducing it.
The Platform integrates with third-party services including AI tools. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services. Your use is subject to their respective terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareHomeDesk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Either party may terminate the subscription at any time. Upon termination, your access will cease. We will retain your data for 12 months following termination unless you request earlier deletion. No refunds are provided for unused subscription periods unless required by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
