Why care homes use this

NHS Estates guidance recommends point-of-use filters as a short-term control measure during Legionella incidents or as a long-term control at outlets serving immunocompromised residents. CQC infection control inspections increasingly ask for evidence of point-of-use filter policies in care homes with clinical residents or those receiving end-of-life care. SHTM 04-01 Part A (Scotland) mandates POU filters in augmented care settings.
