Replacing a commercial boiler? Start here.

Your boiler has failed, or you’ve been advised to replace it. Understand the options, likely costs and what else the work may involve before accepting a proposal.

What are you dealing with?

A like-for-like swap is the fastest route back to normal service, but "like-for-like" is doing a lot of work in that sentence -- it only holds if your heat demand hasn’t changed since the original boiler was sized. Extensions, insulation upgrades or occupancy changes since installation are all reasons the replacement might legitimately need to be a different output, not the same one again.

Could a heat pump work for your care home?

Heat pump suitability depends on building fabric, radiator sizing, hot-water demand and electrical capacity -- not a straight swap for a gas boiler. What to check before you commission a survey.
