Why this matters
Gaps in property compliance evidence -- an expired FRA, lapsed LOLER reports, missing Legionella logs -- are now directly linked to Safe ratings under the SAF. Poor ratings affect commissioner confidence and care home reputation.
What to do
- 1Maintain a single compliance evidence pack: current FRA, CP12, EICR, L8 risk assessment, temperature monitoring logs, LOLER reports, asbestos register.
- 2Date-stamp everything and track next-due dates in a compliance calendar -- inspectors notice when documents have quietly lapsed.
- 3If you have received any enforcement notices or correspondence from HSE or the Fire and Rescue Service, have them on file with your response and remediation record.
- 4Brief your premises lead on what the SAF Safe domain expects -- they should be able to produce the evidence pack within the hour.
