TMV3-rated thermostatic basin taps with a maximum mixed-water outlet temperature of 43°C, lever handles sized for limited hand grip, and integrated flow regulators. The thermostatic cartridge maintains outlet temperature within ±2°C of set point and fails safe to cold in the event of hot or cold supply failure.
Scalding at care home washbasins is a category 4 never event. TMV3 certification — independently tested, not self-certified like TMV2 — is the minimum acceptable standard for any basin where a vulnerable or cognitively impaired resident may have unsupervised access.
