Why care homes use this

Falls on staircases are a leading cause of serious injury in care homes. Approved Document K (Protection from falling) requires stair nosings to be colour-contrasting in buildings accessible to disabled people. BS 8300 specifies that the nosing should contrast with the tread by at least 30 LRV points. Gradus nosings are specified by architects and facilities managers because the colour range covers common staircase finishes and the product carries Part M compliance documentation.
